Personal Touch of the Lord, Celine Ler

Since my family became believers in 1989, we have been meeting with believers who love and seek the Lord in the local churches. As a young teenager, it has always been my aspiration that the God whom my parents believe in and enjoy would be a real and living Person to me. Throughout my high school and college years, this aspiration has deepened and I discovered that I desperately needed help experiencing the Lord in this way.

This need was met when I came to the Full-Time Training in Anaheim (FTTA). This Training was established by Witness Lee in 1989. The two-year program of the Training provides time for personal contact with the Lord in prayer and in the Word. I have particularly grown to love the time I spend with the Lord in the morning. The following stanza of a hymn (Hymns, #811) describes my longing for this time in the morning.

My heart is hungry, my spirit doth thirst;

I come to thee, Lord, to seek Thy supply;

All that I need is none other but Thee,

Thou canst my hunger and thirst satisfy.

By embarking into this daily habit of spending private time with the Lord to contact Him directly, I have experienced the Lord's enlightening and refreshing. I find myself gradually being saved in Christ's life (Romans 5:10). The FTTA has brought me out of a life of periodic inspirations and experiences into a regular, normal contact and touch with my Lord.

I have to thank the Lord for planting such a desire in me to join this wonderful training after I graduated from college. I have profited spiritually by giving these two years to the Lord--I had a real taste of this living Person, my Lord Jesus Christ.
